Dr. James Wang is Deputy Chief Engineer of Zijin Mining Group and is based in Xiamen, China. He has responsibility for the management of ZiJin Group’s Research & Development Center at Xiamen and Shanghang in Fujian Province. He also holds the positions of Deputy Director, State key lab of comprehensive utilization of low grade refractory gold ores; General Manager, Xiamen Zijin Technology of Mining and Metallurgy Ltd; Director, Zijin Research and Institute of Mining & Metallurgy and Chairman of Fujian Zijin Testing Technology of Mining and Metallurgy.
Prior to Zijin, Dr Wang’s previous roles include VP Technical, Operation and Project, CMOC Group, Chief Technical Officer, Ramu Nickel Project, Chief Engineer, Tibet Yulong Copper Industries and Senior Principal Metallurgist, Hydrometallurgical Research Group Leader, BGRIMM.
Dr. Wang has served the mining industry for over 25 years, predominantly in the base metal industry since receiving his PhD in Chemistry in 1996 from Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a qualified and skilled metallurgist with practical operation experience in different areas of the mining industry.He is very experienced in the extractive metallurgy of copper, zinc, nickel cobalt and gold and has sound process research and development, and engineering capacity, especially in heap leach, agitation leach, pressure leach and oxidation, solvent extraction and electrowinning. Dr. Wang has published 30 papers and 10 Chinese patents in hydrometallurgy process.
His professional interests include providing knowledge and proficiency in all facets of the base metal mining project including process development, feasibility study and engineering, strategic planning and implementation, construction, commissioning and operation, cost control and business restructuring, community and external relations.
Dr. Wang is nominated to be the leader on behalf of Zijin Mining Group for the transitional period for the Buritica Project.
Mr. Wang is the Executive Deputy Director of Zijinshan Gold and Copper Mine of Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd., before which he was the Deputy General Manager of the Mines Operations Department of Zijin Mining Co., Ltd.; Deputy General Manager and General Manager of Hunchun Zijin Mining Co., Ltd.; Deputy General Manager and General Manager of Longxing Limited Liablity Company; Executive Deputy General Manager of Qinghai West Copper Co., Ltd.; Director of Process Plant of Xinjiang Habahe Ashele Copper Co., Ltd.; Deputy General Manager of Yunnan Huaxi Mineral Resources Co., Ltd.; Director of Process Plant of Xinjiang Jinbao Mining Co., Ltd.; Technician and workshop director of Zijinshan Gold and Copper Mine, etc.
Mr. Wang has participated in the management of multiple mines in Zijin Mining Group, 24-year of work has made him an excellent mine manager with rich experience.
Mr. Jiang Xiang is currently the level 3 Special Commissioner of the Treasury and Finance Department of Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd as well as the Deputy Financial Director of Zijinshan Gold and Copper Mine. Prior to that, he was employed as 1. the Executive Deputy General Manager and CFO of the Joint Venture of OCI China Investment and OCI Trading (Shanghai) from Netherlands; 2. the CFO of Shanxi Xinwei Environmental Energy Co., Ltd. owned by ENGIE from France; 3. the CFO for China region of Eldorado Gold Co., Ltd. from Canada; 4. the Financial Directorof Guizhou Jinfeng Mining Co., Ltd.; 5. the Senior Manager of Finance and HRA Department of Xi’an Tengfei Information Technology Incubator Co., Ltd owned by Singapore Ascendas Pte Ltd; 6. the Financial Analyst of Kingdee International Software Group Co., Ltd.; 7. the Financial Superintendent of Sino Gold Mining Co., Ltd.
Mr. Jiang is qualified as Certified Public Accountant (China), Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Tax Agents and senior member of the Institute of Public Accountants of Australia and the Institute of Financial Accountants of the United Kingdom.
He is proficient in accounting, familiar with IFRS, US and PRC GAAP, and internal control, SOX, auditing and disclosure for domestic and overseas listed companies, etc.
He is familiar with fiscal and tax regulations, banking and foreign exchange policies.
He also has practical experience in capital operation, corporate investment and financing including mergers and acquisitions. Meanwhile, he is specialized in comprehensive budget management, medium and long-term strategic planning, financial planning and forecasting, cost management and analysis.
Mr. Shuai Chen has a Ph.D. in Mining Engineering and is a registered member of the International Mining Association. He has worked in mines for over 14-years and has 24-years’ worth of experience as a mining engineer.
Mr. Shuai has cooperated with world-renowned mining experts from countries such as China, the USA, Canada, South Africa, and Australia. His work has taken him to 32 mines (both underground and open-pit) throughout the world.
Before joining Zijin-Continental Gold he worked as a Senior Engineer, and Chief Engineer, in China Molybdenum Co., Ltd., Senior Engineer, and Lead Underground Mining Researcher in Freeport-McMoRan Inc., Chief Engineer, and Director of Mining in Klondex Gold & Silver, Senior Engineer, and Chief Engineer in Newmont, etc.
Mr. Shuai speaks perfect English and has broad experience dealing with other cultures.
Mr. Xiaohuan is a Senior Professor in Engineering. Before joining the Zijin Mining Group, he was the Vice-President of the Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration and Development of Guizhou Province in China.
He was also a Project Manager for Barrick Gold Corporation (China Office). Within Zijin
Mining, he started out as the Vice-President of the Zjinshan Gold and Copper Mine. He then assumed the role of lead engineer at the Río Blanco Copper Mine in Peru and became the lead engineer for Zijin Mining’s Department of Geology and Mineral Exploration.
Mr. Luo has been working in the exploration industry for nearly 40 years. He is very familiar with both eastern and western mineral resource management systems. At Zijin-Continental Gold, he will contribute his experience and passion in the area of exploration.
Mr. Yaohua has a bachelor’s degree in International Maritime Logistics and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Economic Law. Before joining the Zijin Mining Group, he was a procurement manager for China Resources Europe Co., Ltd., and then the General Manager for that same company’s German Branch.
He served as the Operations Equipment Management Supervisor for China Shipping Group’s Dutch Company. Mr. Huang was also a Foreign Partner at Legal Firm and a Director at a well-known insurance brokerage company.
He speaks English and is becoming familiar with transnational logistic systems as well as eastern and western legal systems. At Zijin-Continental Gold, he will be responsible for managing the Company’s supply chain. His experience and rigor will greatly contribute to the success of the Company.
Mr. Xiaokang Liu Administrative Vice-President
Mr. Xiaokang Liu (Sean) has a BA in International Journalism from Shanghai International Studies University (China) and an MBA from the Micheal G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington in Seattle (USA).
Prior to coming to Colombia to Join Zijin-Continental Gold, he was the Deputy General Manager, for the Board of Directors’ Office and then the Deputy General Manager for Corporate Social Responsibility, at Rakita Exploration d.o.o. (Serbia). Before that, he was an Immigration Project Manager at Peng & Weber, PLLC, a leading immigration firm in the US, and the Executive Training and Development Program Manager at the School of Management at Fudan University (one of China’s top 3 Business Schools).
His diverse professional background and multicultural experience will greatly contribute to the Administrative Department’s success.
